II Corinthians 9:15

Thanks be unto God for His indescribable gift!

As we continue in our study on Praise and Worship, we need to get in the habit of thanking God in every situation. We don’t thank Him for everything, but we do need to thank Him IN everything. Just thanking Him everyday for Jesus is a good start. This will bring us into a habit of thanking Him no matter what happens

What is God’s undescribably gift? It’s Jesus. Is it possible to put into words how amazing it is that God would give the one that was most precious to Him as a gift to us. He held back nothing! He gave it all! Can you say you have ever done that? It can’t be described in words just how awesome it was that God did this for us. It is definitely something we should be thanking Him for everyday. If you can’t think of anything else to thank Him for, you can say Thanks God for Jesus.

Ephesians 5:20

Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ

I Thessalonians 5:9

In every thing give thanks, for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you

Both of these scriptures tell us that no matter what the circumstnaces, we are to thand God. Now is something bad happens, are we supposed to thank God for that? No! But we are supposed to thank Him in the situation so that He can help us out of it. It also says that this is the will of God. It is God’s will that we thank Him in every situation. Why? So He can help us. If we sit around and grumble and complain can God help us? Angels harken to the voice of His word. Will they help us if we are sitting around grumbling and complaining? No! We need to thank God that He is bigger than the problem and that He has the answer for you.

 I Thessalonians 3:9-10

For what thanks can we render to God again for you for all the joy wherewith we joy for your sakes before our God. Night and day praying exceedingly that we might see your face and might perfect that which is laking in your faith?

Another think that we can thank God for is other people. Yes you can thank God for other people, and you can do it with Joy! It can bring Joy to your life by praying for other people, night and day. Have you ever prayed for some on to get saved? It cam bring real joy to see that person accept Jesus because of your prayers. Thank God for someone that you know to get saved. Thank Him that He is bringing people across their path that will witness to them and bring them to Christ. Thank Him that He is giving you chances to witness to them. God can do miracles if we just thank and praise Him.

Psalm 50: 14,15

Offer unto God thanksgiving and pay your vows unto the most High. And call upon me in the day of trouble, I will deliver you and you shall glorify me.

This scripture says that thanking God is like paying a vow. If someone does something for you feel like you owe them something. God’s gift is free, but we do owe Him praise and thanksgiving for it. It’s the lest we can do for all He has done. And even when we pay that vow, He still gives us something back. You can’t outgive God. When we give to Him, He always gives back to you. It’s a win, win situation!

Psalm 95:2

Let us come before His presence with thanksgiving and make a joyful noise unto Him with psalms.

We sing a lot of joyful songs in our worship services. We do it because it is fun, but we also do it because it brings pleasure to God. Praise and thanksgiving is for what God has done. Worship is for Who He Is!

Philipians 4: 6, 7

Be careful for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passes all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus

Did you know it was a sin to worry? Being anxious is worry. Worry says that you don’t think that God is big enough to take care of your problem. People that always worry about everything, are not trusting God, that He can do whatever it takes to change their situation. Instead of worrying, you need to take that thing to God in prayer and thanksgiving, and leave it there.

You pray about it and then thank Him that it is already done. Just talk to Him and see what He will do.

Can you think of something right now to thank God for? Even something that may seem small, is worth thanking God for isn’t it? God is Good and worthy to be Praised! Don’t forget to thank Him for Jesus! If it wasn’t for God giving Jesus, we would all be going to hell. Thank Jesus for that too! Boy that is sure something to be thankful for. But I’m sure that if you think hard enough, you can find plenty to thank God for. Thank Him in the morning! Thank Him at noon! Thank Him before you go to bed. Just say,

THANKS GOD! That can be enough sometimes, and He understands what is in your heart.
