1 John Chapter 4:7-10
“Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loves is born of God, and knows God. He that loves not knows not God; for God is love In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. ”
Here John tells us that we cannot know God unless we know love. We are lying if we say we love God but do not love one another. We must love one another and then we too will be moved by compassion as Jesus was and see the deep things of God. Only God’s love could send His own son to die for us
I John 4:11-13
“Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwells in us, and his love is perfected in us. Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit.”
If we can love God who we have not seen, then we can love those that we see every day. And if we love them, then God truly dwells in us. And we know that He dwells in us because of the witness of His Spirit in us
I John 4: 14-17
“Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwells in him, and he in God.
And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwells in love dwells in God, and God in him. Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.”
This statement is Love in a capsule.
We heard the word of God and believed that God loved us so much that He gave us His son. We accepted that and felt the Love of God fill us at the point of Salvation. And since God is Love and He now dwells in us, we dwell in Love, and He in us. It is a continuous circle that can’t be broken.
And how is our love made perfect?
That at the day of Judgment, no judgment will come against us for God is in us and we are in Him, and cannot be separated. We are protected against the wrath to come
I John 4:18
“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear: because fear hath torment. He that fears is not made perfect in love.”
We see that the Love of God in us, takes away all fear. We can live each day free of fear because we know that one day, we will be with Him. And nothing can separate us from God.
Romans 8:35
“Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
As it is written, For your sake we are killed all the day long; we are accounted as sheep for the slaughter. Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
Nothing can separate us from God’s Love. It is with us where ever we go and therefore, we need to show others this love.
I John 4:19-21
“If a man say, I love God, and hates his brother, he is a liar: for he that loves not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? And this commandment have we from him, That he who loves God love his brother also”
If we want to enter into the Deep Places in God, we must have love.
It is not a suggestion, it is a command from the Lord
John 13: 34
“A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.”
So with this commandment to love we must do it. But like all things that God wants us to do, it has a benefit not only for the receiver, but the giver as well. Because as we love others, we will see the power of God manifested in our lives. We will see miracles and signs and wonders.
But how hard is it to follow this life of love?
We all know that there are some un-loveable people out there that give us every opportunity to not show love. But we need to resist the temptation and just love them. Because most of them do not know any better then to be the way they are and all the more reason to show the love of Christ to them. Because God loves them, as much as He loves you, and showing them love, will win them over. Always remember to think this “Consider the Source” And that will help you to love them when you remember that it is not them, but the one that drives them to be that way.
And where do we get the strength to do this?
Ephesians 3:16-19
“That he would grant you, according to the riches of his glory, to be strengthened with might by his Spirit in the inner man that Christ may dwell in your hearts by faith; that ye, being rooted and grounded in love, May be able to comprehend with all saints what is the breadth, and length, and depth, and height. And to know the love of Christ, which passes knowledge, that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God.”
And know this one thing. God can do above and beyond what you can ask or think
Verse 20
“Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us”
Ephesians 5:2
And walk in love, as Christ also hath loved us, and hath given himself for us an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet smelling
savor.
As we love, we can give it up as an offering to the Lord and it will be sweet smelling to Him. And we will enter into the Deep Places in God and walk in the Supernatural.
I Corinthians 13
Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have not love,
I am become as sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.
And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not love, I am nothing.
And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and though I give my body to be burned, and have not charity, it profits me nothing.
Love suffers long, and is kind; charity envies not; charity vaunts not itself, is not puffed up, Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeks not her own, is not easily provoked, thinks no evil; rejoices not in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth;
Bears all things, believeth all things, hopes all things, endures all things.
Love never fails:
but whether there be prophecies, they shall fail;
whether there be tongues, they shall cease;
whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.
And now abides faith, hope, love, these three;
but the greatest of these is Love
