Rise And Be Healed!

One of God's names is "Jehovah Rapha" God the Healer. There are so many scriptures in the Bible that promise healing. All we have to do is believe them, and we will see healing in our lives

Psalm 107:19 Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble,
And He saved them out of their distresses.
20 He sent His word and healed them,
And delivered them from their destructions.
21 Oh, that men would give thanks to the LORD for His goodness,
And for His wonderful works to the children of men!

God sent His word and healed them. What does this mean? Well the very words of God's mouth bring healing. All he has to say is "Be Healed" and sickness must obey. But the Bible also tells us that Jesus is "The Word" that became flesh and dwelled among us. So if he is the Word, and God sent Him, then healing comes from Jesus in the salvation that He bought for us on the cross. He not only died for our Spirit, but for our bodies.

1 Peter 2:24 Who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness--by whose stripes you were healed.

We all know how to recognize someone with authority. If we see a policeman in the middle of the road directing traffic...we recognize his authority, and do as he says. We obey the laws of the land, because they were set up by those in "Authority"  Jesus was a man of "Authority". Anyone that knew him, knew that when He said something, it was done. When he spoke to the sick, they were healed. His own mother told people.. whatever he tells you to do, do it. She knew that what he said, would come to pass.  In the following passage we see a Roman centurion coming to Jesus and recognizing His authority. He obviously had been watching Him. He had so much faith in Jesus' authority, that he told him to just "Speak the Word" and his servant would be healed. Jesus marveled at His faith...and the servant was healed. And this man was a part of a race that was hated by the Jews. And yet, he believed and received.

Matthew 8:7 And Jesus said to him, "I will come and heal him."
8 The centurion answered and said, "Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed.  9 For I also am a man under authority, having soldiers under me. And I say to this one, "Go,' and he goes; and to another, "Come,' and he comes; and to my servant, "Do this,' and he does it."  10 When Jesus heard it, He marveled, and said to those who followed, "Assuredly, I say to you, I have not found such great faith, not even in Israel!  11 And I say to you that many will come from east and west, and sit down with Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob in the kingdom of heaven. 12 But the sons of the kingdom will be cast out into outer darkness.  There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth."  13 Then Jesus said to the centurion, "Go your way; and as you have believed, so let it be done for you." And his servant was healed that same hour.

If we could recognize the authority of Jesus, and the authority He has given us in this earth, we would be healed

Matthew 28:18 And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit

Mark 16:17 And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; 18 they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover."

The Word of God is full of healing. As we give attention to it and let it guide our life, it brings life and healing to our bodies. We need to keep the Word in our hearts and never let it get away from us.

Proverbs 4:20 My son, give attention to my words; Incline your ear to my sayings.  21 Do not let them depart from your eyes; Keep them in the midst of your heart;  22 For they are life to those who find them, And health to all their flesh.  23 Keep your heart with all diligence, For out of it spring the issues of life.

A major part of Jesus's ministry was healing the sick. Everywhere that he went, he healed those that he found. For anyone to think that his dying on the cross would not include healing has not read the Gospels and seen just how much healing is mentioned in them.  And if He healed then, he heals now. And not only can heal, wants to heal you.

Matthew 4 - Jesus Heals a Great Multitude
23 And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people.  24 Then His fame went throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all sick people who were afflicted with various diseases and torments, and those who were demon-possessed, epileptics, and paralytics; and He healed them.

Matthew 9 - The Compassion of Jesus
35 Then Jesus went about all the cities and villages, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing every sickness and every disease among the people.  36 But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd

Luke 9:11 But when the multitudes knew it, they followed Him; and He received them and spoke to them about the kingdom of God, and healed those who had need of healing.

Acts 10:38 how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.

Notice that in these scriptures He healed "ALL" that were sick or oppressed.  The devil hates this teaching.  Don't let the devil lie to you. God wants you well! He has provided it for you. Don't let the devil rob you of what Jesus bought and paid for.

When the Bible says "Give and it shall be given unto you" This means in every area of your life.  As we give out to others, God will give back to us whatever we need, including healing.

Isaiah 58:7 Is it not to share your bread with the hungry,
And that you bring to your house the poor who are cast out;
When you see the naked, that you cover him,
And not hide yourself from your own flesh?
8 Then your light shall break forth like the morning,
Your healing shall spring forth speedily,
And your righteousness shall go before you;
The glory of the LORD shall be your rear guard.
9 Then you shall call, and the LORD will answer;
You shall cry, and He will say, "Here I am.'

Not only will we receive healing, but God will be our rear guard when the enemy comes to attack us from behind. And thank God that he sent His "Son" of righteous with healing in His wings, and he will say "Here I Am" Isn't that wonderful?

Malachi 4:2 But to you who fear My name
The Sun of Righteousness shall arise
With healing in His wings;

As we trust in God, and care for others, the healing power that Jesus paid for on Calvary will come to us and heal us

How many of us are waiting for someone else to help us to receive from God when all we have to do is get up and receive on our own. God is looking for your faith, not the faith of someone else.  He wants you to look into the word and see the truths that are there and to receive because you believe.  There was a man that sat and waited for many years...and never received until Jesus told him to "Get Up".  If he had not done it, then he probably would have never been healed.

John 5 - A Man Healed at the Pool of Bethesda
2 Now there is in Jerusalem by the Sheep Gate a pool, which is called in Hebrew, Bethesda, having five porches. 3 In these lay a great multitude of sick people, blind, lame, paralyzed, waiting for the moving of the water. 4 For an angel went down at a certain time into the pool and stirred up the water; then whoever stepped in first, after the stirring of the water, was made well of whatever disease he had.  5 Now a certain man was there who had an infirmity thirty-eight years. 6 When Jesus saw him lying there, and knew that he already had been in that condition a long time, He said to him, "Do you want to be made well?" 7 The sick man answered Him, "Sir, I have no man to put me into the pool when the water is stirred up; but while I am coming, another steps down before me." 8 Jesus said to him, "Rise, take up your bed and walk." 9 And immediately the man was made well, took up his bed, and walked. And that day was the Sabbath. 10 The Jews therefore said to him who was cured, "It is the Sabbath; it is not lawful for you to carry your bed."  11 He answered them, "He who made me well said to me, "Take up your bed and walk."  12 Then they asked him, "Who is the Man who said to you, "Take up your bed and walk'?"  13 But the one who was healed did not know who it was, for Jesus had withdrawn, a multitude being in that place. 14 Afterward Jesus found him in the temple, and said to him, "See, you have been made well. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you."  15 The man departed and told the Jews that it was Jesus who had made him well.

Jesus wants you to receive the same healing today.  If there is sickness in your body, receive your healing now

So many times I hear people that say that yes Jesus healed people...but that was Jesus.  Well Jesus has given us the authority to do just what he did on this earth. We are to preach the gospel and pray for the sick, just as He did. Peter and John were ordinary people, just like you and me.  They were headed to church one day and a wonderful miracle happened.

Act 3 - A Lame Man Healed
1 Now Peter and John went up together to the temple at the hour of prayer, the ninth hour.  2 And a certain man lame from his mother's womb was carried, whom they laid daily at the gate of the temple which is called Beautiful, to ask alms from those who entered the temple; 3 who, seeing Peter and John about to go into the temple, asked for alms.  4 And fixing his eyes on him, with John, Peter said, "Look at us." 5 So he gave them his attention, expecting to receive something from them. 6 Then Peter said, "Silver and gold I do not have, but what I do have I give you: In the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, rise up and walk."  7 And he took him by the right hand and lifted him up, and immediately his feet and ankle bones received strength. 8 So he, leaping up, stood and walked and entered the temple with them--walking, leaping, and praising God. 9 And all the people saw him walking and praising God.  10 Then they knew that it was he who sat begging alms at the Beautiful Gate of the temple; and they were filled with wonder and amazement at what had happened to him.

He was expecting, it says...and that is why he received. Peter and John simply did what they had seen Jesus do in the 3 years that they walked with Him. And God did a miracle in this man's life.  God wants to do a miracle in your life. Are you expecting to receive?  If not...get ready!  A miracle is headed your way!

There is one thing that is very important to remember.  We cannot be moved by what we see, but by what we believe.

2 Corinthians 4:18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

2 Corinthians 5:6 So we are always confident, knowing that while we are at home in the body we are absent from the Lord. 7For we walk by faith, not by sight. 8We are confident, yes, well pleased rather to be absent
from the body and to be present with the Lord.

Our physical body will tell us exactly the opposite of what the Word of God says.  It will scream out sometimes distracting us from the truth. And what is the truth?  That Jesus paid the price for us, for everything.

Isaiah 53:4

Surely He has borne our grief
And carried our sorrows;
Yet we esteemed Him stricken,
Smitten by God, and afflicted.
5 But He was wounded for our transgressions,
He was bruised for our iniquities;
The chastisement for our peace was upon Him,
And by His stripes we are healed.

He did not forget anything, His sacrifice did not fall short. He paid it all. Salvation for our soul, peace for our minds, and healing for our bodies. No matter what your body is telling you, you have to believe what God's word says, And it will heal you.

The Passion Of The Christ

This movie brings such a reality to what Christ suffered for us.  What moved me the most was how in the middle of the torture he was going through, it flashed back to the past when he was talking to his disciples and spoke the scriptures that prophesied what he was going to go through and then back to the present. It had such a powerful impact to me, and I am praying for others as well. We read the scriptures and may not even think about how they became a reality. I know that the Bible says that after His resurrection, these things became real to his disciples as they recalled His words.

The movie opens with the scripture from Isaiah 53 that I already quoted, but it bears repeating.  "He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement of our peace was upon him, and by His stripes we are healed."
What a reality that became as I viewed this film.

I remember years ago hearing a teaching on Isaiah 53 where it says
He hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.  3 He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.

The speaker read out of Isaiah 52, it said that "His visage was so marred, that he did not resemble a man"

After seeing this so real in front of me, I recalled this teaching and understood it so clearly.

The Message Bible is so powerful in it's interpretation

There was nothing attractive about him, nothing to cause us to take a second look.  3  He was looked down on and passed over, a man who suffered, who knew pain firsthand. One look at him and people turned away. We looked down on him, thought he was scum.  4But the fact is, it was our pains he carried our disfigurements, all the things wrong with us. We thought he brought it on himself, that God was punishing him for his own failures.  5But it was our sins that did that to him, that ripped and tore and crushed him--our sins!  He took the punishment, and that made us whole. Through his bruises we get healed.

Jesus paid an awful price to set us free. What are you going to do with that freedom?  I for one am going to receive it with all that it means. Spirit, Soul & Body. I want it all. He paid dearly for it, and it was for me.

Thank God that He sent His word to heal us. And who is the Word? Jesus is the Word.

Psalm 107:19 Then they cried out to the LORD in their trouble, And He saved them out of their distresses. 20 He sent His word and healed them, And delivered them from their destructions.  21 Oh, that men would give thanks to the LORD for His goodness, And for His wonderful works to the children of men!

John 1 - The Word Becomes Flesh
14 And the Word became flesh and dwelt among us, and we beheld His glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father, full of grace and truth. 15 John bore witness of Him and cried out, saying, "This was He of whom I said, "He who comes after me is preferred before me, for He was before me."'

Sometimes we feel we are being treated unfairly and people are being unfair to us. We feel sorry for ourselves and feel down. Next time you feel this way, think of Jesus and all he went through for you, to bring you salvation and healing.

1 Peter 2:20 For what credit is it if, when you are beaten for your faults, you take it patiently? But when you do good and suffer, if you take it patiently, this is commendable before God. 21 For to this you were called, because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that you should follow His steps: 22 "Who committed no sin, Nor was deceit found in His mouth"; 23 who, when He was reviled, did not revile in return; when He suffered, He did not threaten, but committed Himself to Him who judges righteously; 24 who Himself bore our sins in His own body on the tree, that we, having died to sins, might live for righteousness--by whose stripes you were healed. 25 For you were like sheep going astray, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls.

Isaiah 53:7 He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he opened not his mouth.

Dear Heavenly Father

Help us when we are persecuted to think of Jesus and all he went through. That he did no wrong and yet was beaten and killed for us. While we think of this, may we stop feeling sorry for ourselves and be joyful that Jesus loved us enough, to go through what he did for us.  Thank you for what he won for us at Calvary. Thank you for Salvation, Spirit, Soul and Body!  That He paid it all. And as we realize this, we will receive healing for our minds and body. Thank you for healing.  I pray for those with loved ones that are sick or in need. Touch them and make them whole, and give strength to those that are caring for them.
I ask this in Jesus name, Amen

We have been reading scriptures about healing. I hope that these have helped you, I know they have me. Just remember, Jesus paid it all. There is no other sacrifice that has to be made for your healing. He took care of all, Spirit, Soul & Body.

This is a wonderful old hymn that I used to sing as a child. It has so much more meaning to me now that I know the scriptures on Healing and what Jesus paid for.

Jesus Paid It All

I hear the Saviour say,
"Thy strength indeed is small;
Child of weakness, watch and pray,
Find in Me thine all in all."

Refrain
Jesus paid it all,
All to Him I owe;
Sin had left a crimson stain;
He washed it white as snow.

2
Lord, now indeed I find
Thy power, and Thine alone,
Can change the leper's spots,
And melt the heart of stone.

3
Since nothing good have I
Whereby Thy grace to claim,
I'll wash my garment white
In the blood of Calvary's Lamb.

4
And when before the throne
I stand in Him complete,
I'll lay my trophies down,
All down at Jesus' feet.

Dear Heavenly Father

Thank you that Jesus paid it all for us. That He left nothing undone. That there is no further sacrifice that has to be paid. He did it all. With the brutal beating He took, he paid for the healing of our bodies.  I pray that all the are in need of healing, will understand and accept this and stand on your word, until they see this manifested in their lives.
I ask this in Jesus Name, Amen

James 5
- Meeting Specific Needs
13 Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. 14Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.

God also provides healing if you have to go the avenue of medicine. All healing is of God. He is not against Dr's. He is all for them. If you have to have surgery, then pray for that surgeon that God will guide his hands and that you will have a safe and successful surgery, and a quick recovery
