The Glory of God
The Glory is the Manifestation of God's
Presence!
Moses and the Glory of God!
Psalm 126
126 It was like a dream come true when
you freed us from our bondage and
brought us back to Zion! 2 We laughed
and laughed and overflowed with
gladness. We were left shouting for joy
and singing your praise. All the nations
saw it and joined in, saying, “The Lord
has done great miracles for them!” 3
Yes, he did mighty miracles and we are
overjoyed! 4 Now, Lord, do it again!
Restore us to our former glory! May
streams of your refreshing flow over us
until our dry hearts are drenched again.
5 Those who sow their tears as seeds
will reap a harvest with joyful shouts
of glee. 6 They may weep as they go out
carrying their seed to sow, but they
will return with joyful laughter and
shouting with gladness as they bring
back armloads of blessing and a harvest
overflowing!
This was a look back to a Glorious
victory for Isreal. I looked it up and
it was referring to them returning to
Jerusalem after the Babylonians had
destroyed it. But it can be any victory
that God brought them through...the end
result is the same. He restored them to
their former Glory. That is what God is
doing for us.
I am going to talk to you about Moses
and show times that the Glory of God was
with him and compare it to the New
Testament scriptures that show us that
this same Glory belongs to us and how
God has and is still restoring the
Church to it's former Glory. Taking back
what Adam lost.
Like David, Moses was not a perfect man
and made plenty of mistakes in his
life...but God called him and changed
him and used him to lead his people out
of bondage. He performed many miracles
through Moses and made him a great
leader of his people.
The call of Moses

Exodus 3
Moses at the Burning Bush
3 Now Moses was tending the flock of
Jethro his father-in-law, the priest of
Midian. And he led the flock to the back
of the desert, and came to Horeb, the
mountain of God. 2 And the Angel of the
Lord appeared to him in a flame of fire
from the midst of a bush. So he looked,
and behold, the bush was burning with
fire, but the bush was not consumed. 3
Then Moses said, “I will now turn aside
and see this great sight, why the bush
does not burn.” 4 So when the Lord saw
that he turned aside to look, God called
to him from the midst of the bush and
said, “Moses, Moses!”
And he said, “Here I am.” 5 Then He
said, “Do not draw near this place. Take
your sandals off your feet, for the
place where you stand is holy ground.” 6
Moreover He said, “I am the God of your
father—the God of Abraham, the God of
Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” And Moses
hid his face, for he was afraid to look
upon God.
14 And God said to Moses, “I AM WHO I
AM.” And He said, “Thus you shall say to
the children of Israel, ‘I AM has sent
me to you.’ ” 15 Moreover God said to
Moses, “Thus you shall say to the
children of Israel: ‘The Lord God of
your fathers, the God of Abraham, the
God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob, has
sent me to you. This is My name forever,
and this is My memorial to all
generations.’
Right from the beginning, God's
relationship with Moses was a
Supernatural one. Always appearing to
him in His Glory, but always protecting
him. This is how he came to him to
commission him to go to Egypt and set
his people free.
Moses on the
Mountain

As their journey of freedom continued,
God continue to appear to Moses in His
Glory, but always protecting him from
harm. In this scripture we see Moses
talking to God on the mountain. God was
inside the Cloud.
Exodus 33:17-23
17 So the Lord said to Moses, “I will
also do this thing that you have spoken;
for you have found grace in My sight,
and I know you by name.” 18 And he
(Moses) said, “Please, show me Your
glory.” 19 Then He (God) said, “I will
make all My goodness pass before you,
and I will proclaim the name of the Lord
before you. I will be gracious to whom I
will be gracious, and I will have
compassion on whom I will have
compassion.” 20 But He said, “You cannot
see My face; for no man shall see Me,
and live.” 21 And the Lord said, “Here
is a place by Me, and you shall stand on
the rock. 22 So it shall be, while My
glory passes by, that I will put you in
the cleft of the rock, and will cover
you with My hand while I pass by. 23
Then I will take away My hand, and you
shall see My back; but My face shall not
be seen.”
Absolute goodness is beyond the Human
Mind...sin or evil cannot even stand in
the presence of it. Goodness will
overpower the bad every time, if we
yield to it and not the sin. The
Goodness and the Glory are one and the
same thing. God surrounded himself in
the cloud to protect Moses. As an unborn
again man, the Glory would have killed
him.
Exodus 14:20
20 So it came between the camp of the
Egyptians and the camp of Israel. Thus
it was a cloud and darkness to the one,
and it gave light by night to the other,
so that the one did not come near the
other all that night.
Ex 40:34-36,38
The Cloud and the Glory
34 Then the cloud covered the tabernacle
of meeting, and the glory of the Lord
filled the tabernacle. 35 And Moses was
not able to enter the tabernacle of
meeting, because the cloud rested above
it, and the glory of the Lord filled the
tabernacle. 36 Whenever the cloud was
taken up from above the tabernacle, the
children of Israel would go onward in
all their journeys. 38 For the cloud of
the Lord was above the tabernacle by
day, and fire was over it by night, in
the sight of all the house of Israel,
throughout all their journeys.
These were manifestations of the Glory
of the Lord, that came between the
Israelites and the enemy, and they could
not get through. God has always had a
wall around His people. In the land of
Egypt there was a wall of protection
around them when they obeyed God, when
the plagues hit Egypt. Not one Israelite
died that had the Blood on the door
posts.
The Glory traveled with the Israelites
as they crossed the desert, but always
in a cloud or in fire to protect His
people.
God's continuous protection over the
children of Israel
Psalm 3:3
But in the depths of my heart I truly
know that you, Yahweh, have become my
Shield;
You take me and surround me with
yourself. Your glory covers me
continually. You lift high my head.
Psalm 18:35
You empower me for victory with your
wraparound presence. Your power within
makes me strong to subdue. By stooping
down in gentleness, you made me great!
Psalm 144:2
He’s my shelter of love and my fortress
of faith, who wraps himself around me as
a secure shield. I hide myself in this
one who subdues enemies before me
Proverbs 30:5
Every promise from the faithful God is
pure and proves to be true. He is a
wraparound shield of protection for all
his lovers who run to hide in him.
(Psalms 91)
Ephesians 6:16
In every battle, take faith as your
wrap-around shield, for it is able to
extinguish the blazing arrows coming at
you from the evil one!
Romans 6:4
The Passion Translation
4 Sharing in his death by our baptism
means that we were co-buried with him,
so that when the Father’s glory raised
Christ from the dead, we were also
raised with him. We have been
co-resurrected with him so that we could
be empowered to walk in the freshness of
new life.
The Glory raised Jesus from the dead and
raises us up from Spiritual death, and
eventually from physical death.
Romans 8
9 But you are not in the flesh but in
the Spirit, if indeed the Spirit of God
dwells in you. Now if anyone does not
have the Spirit of Christ, he is not
His. 10 And if Christ is in you, the
body is dead because of sin, but the
Spirit is life because of righteousness.
11 But if the Spirit of Him who raised
Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He
who raised Christ from the dead will
also give life to your mortal bodies
through His Spirit who dwells in you.
God raised us up with the Glory and that
Glory will also heal our bodies!
Exodus 19:3-10
3 And Moses went up to God, and the Lord
called to him from the mountain, saying,
“Thus you shall say to the house of
Jacob, and tell the children of Israel:
4 ‘You have seen what I did to the
Egyptians, and how I bore you on eagles’
wings and brought you to Myself. 5 Now
therefore, if you will indeed obey My
voice and keep My covenant, then you
shall be a special treasure to Me above
all people; for all the earth is Mine. 6
And you shall be to Me a kingdom of
priests and a holy nation.’ These are
the words which you shall speak to the
children of Israel.” 7 So Moses came and
called for the elders of the people, and
laid before them all these words which
the Lord commanded him. 8 Then all the
people answered together and said, “All
that the Lord has spoken we will do.” So
Moses brought back the words of the
people to the Lord. 9 And the Lord said
to Moses, “Behold, I come to you in the
thick cloud, that the people may hear
when I speak with you, and believe you
forever.” So Moses told the words of the
people to the Lord. 10 Then the Lord
said to Moses, “Go to the people and
consecrate them today and tomorrow, and
let them wash their clothes. 11 And let
them be ready for the third day. For on
the third day the Lord will come down
upon Mount Sinai in the sight of all the
people. 12 You shall set bounds for the
people all around, saying, ‘Take heed to
yourselves that you do not go up to the
mountain or touch its base. Whoever
touches the mountain shall surely be put
to death. 13 Not a hand shall touch him,
but he shall surely be stoned or shot
with an arrow; whether man or beast, he
shall not live.’ When the trumpet sounds
long, they shall come near the
mountain.”
God said he would speak to the people in
a thick cloud so that the people would
believe that what Moses was saying was
from him.
16 Then it came to pass on the third
day, in the morning, that there were
thunderings and lightnings, and a thick
cloud on the mountain; and the sound of
the trumpet was very loud, so that all
the people who were in the camp
trembled. 17 And Moses brought the
people out of the camp to meet with God,
and they stood at the foot of the
mountain. 18 Now Mount Sinai was
completely in smoke, because the Lord
descended upon it in fire. It's smoke
ascended like the smoke of a furnace,
and the whole mountain quaked greatly.
19 And when the blast of the trumpet
sounded long and became louder and
louder, Moses spoke, and God answered
him by voice. 20 Then the Lord came down
upon Mount Sinai, on the top of the
mountain. And the Lord called Moses to
the top of the mountain, and Moses went
up.
God warned Moses that he had to tell the
people not to come up into the mountain,
or they would perish.
Exodus 24:15-18
15 Then Moses went up into the mountain,
and a cloud covered the mountain. 16 Now
the glory of the Lord rested on Mount
Sinai, and the cloud covered it six
days. And on the seventh day He called
to Moses out of the midst of the cloud.
17 The sight of the glory of the Lord
was like a consuming fire on the top of
the mountain in the eyes of the children
of Israel. 18 So Moses went into the
midst of the cloud and went up into the
mountain. And Moses was on the mountain
forty days and forty nights.
God's Glory is a consuming fire to those
that are not worthy to be in his
presence. But he has made us righteous
through the Glory!
2 Corinthians 5:20-21
20 Now then, we are ambassadors for
Christ, as though God were pleading
through us: we implore you on Christ’s
behalf, be reconciled to God. 21 For He
made Him who knew no sin to be sin for
us, that we might become the
righteousness of God in Him.
Ex 34:5-8
5 Now the Lord descended in the cloud
and stood with him there, and proclaimed
the name of the Lord. 6 And the Lord
passed before him and proclaimed, “The
Lord, the Lord God, merciful and
gracious, longsuffering, and abounding
in goodness and truth, 7 keeping mercy
for thousands, forgiving iniquity and
transgression and sin, by no means
clearing the guilty, visiting the
iniquity of the fathers upon the
children and the children’s children to
the third and the fourth generation.” 8
So Moses made haste and bowed his head
toward the earth, and worshiped. 9 Then
he said, “If now I have found grace in
Your sight, O Lord, let my Lord, I pray,
go among us, even though we are a
stiff-necked people; and pardon our
iniquity and our sin, and take us as
Your inheritance.”
Moses had to plead for the Israelites
continually. But we have found Grace in
God's Glory through Jesus.
Romans 5:1&2 Therefore, having been
justified by faith, we have peace with
God through our Lord Jesus Christ, 2
through whom also we have access by
faith into this grace in which we stand,
and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
Romans 3:21-25
New King James Version
God’s Righteousness Through Faith
21 But now the righteousness of God
apart from the law is revealed, being
witnessed by the Law and the Prophets,
22 even the righteousness of God,
through faith in Jesus Christ, to all
and on all who believe. For there is no
difference; 23 for all have sinned and
fall short of the glory of God, 24 being
justified freely by His grace through
the redemption that is in Christ Jesus,
25 whom God set forth as a propitiation
by His blood, through faith, to
demonstrate His righteousness, because
in His forbearance God had passed over
the sins that were previously committed,
Romans 3:21-25
The Passion Translation
The Gospel Reveals God’s Righteousness
21–22 But now, independently of the law,
the righteousness of God is tangible and
brought to light through Jesus, the
Anointed One. This is the righteousness
that the Scriptures prophesied would
come. It is God’s righteousness made
visible through the faithfulness of
Jesus Christ. And now all who believe in
him receive that gift. For there is
really no difference between us, 23 for
we all have sinned and are in need of
the glory of God. 24 Yet through his
powerful declaration of acquittal, God
freely gives away his righteousness. His
gift of love and favor now cascades over
us, all because Jesus, the Anointed One,
has liberated us from the guilt,
punishment, and power of sin! 25 Jesus’
God-given destiny was to be the
sacrifice to take away sins, and now he
is our mercy seat because of his death
on the cross. We come to him for mercy,
for God has made a provision for us to
be forgiven by faith in the sacred blood
of Jesus. This is the perfect
demonstration of God’s justice, because
until now, he had been so
patient—holding back his justice out of
his tolerance for us. So he covered over
the sins of those who lived prior to
Jesus’ sacrifice.
The Shining Face of Moses
Exodus 34:29 Now it was so, when Moses
came down from Mount Sinai (and the two
tablets of the Testimony were in Moses’
hand when he came down from the
mountain), that Moses did not know that
the skin of his face shone while he
talked with Him. 30 So when Aaron and
all the children of Israel saw Moses,
behold, the skin of his face shone, and
they were afraid to come near him.
33 And when Moses had finished speaking
with them, he put a veil on his face. 34
But whenever Moses went in before the
Lord to speak with Him, he would take
the veil off until he came out; and he
would come out and speak to the children
of Israel whatever he had been
commanded. 35 And whenever the children
of Israel saw the face of Moses, that
the skin of Moses’ face shone, then
Moses would put the veil on his face
again, until he went in to speak with
Him.
But as children of God we are told to
let His light shine out of us for all to
see!
Matthew 5:16
So don’t hide your light! Let it shine
brightly before others, so that your
commendable works will shine as light
upon them, and then they will give their
praise to your Father in heaven.”
Matthew 13:43
Then the righteous will shine like the
brightness of the sun in their Father’s
kingdom realm. If you’re able to
understand this, then you’d better
respond!”
2 Corinthians 3:8
Yet how much more radiant is this new
and glorious ministry of the Spirit that
shines from us!
2 Corinthians 4:6
For God, who said, “Let brilliant light
shine out of darkness,” is the one who
has cascaded his light into us—the
brilliant dawning light of the glorious
knowledge of God as we gaze into the
face of Jesus Christ.
Philippians 2:12
Believers Shine Like Lights in the World
My beloved ones, just like you’ve always
listened to everything I’ve taught you
in the past, I’m asking you now to keep
following my instructions as though I
were right there with you. Now you must
continue to make this new life fully
manifested as you live in the holy awe
of God—which brings you trembling into
his presence.
1 John 4:9
The light of God’s love shined within us
when he sent his matchless Son into the
world so that we might live through him.
Leviticus 9:5-7
5 So they brought what Moses commanded
before the tabernacle of meeting. And
all the congregation drew near and stood
before the Lord. 6 Then Moses said,
“This is the thing which the Lord
commanded you to do, and the glory of
the Lord will appear to you.” 7 And
Moses said to Aaron, “Go to the altar,
offer your sin offering and your burnt
offering, and make atonement for
yourself and for the people. Offer the
offering of the people, and make
atonement for them, as the Lord
commanded.”
The Lord appeared to Paul and brought
him to repentance.
Acts 26:12 “For that purpose I went to
Damascus, with the authority granted to
me by the chief priests. 13 While
traveling on the road at noon, Your
Highness, I saw a light brighter than
the sun flashing from heaven all around
me and those who were with me. 14 We all
fell to the ground, and I heard a voice
speaking to me in Aramaic, saying,
‘Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting me?
You are only hurting yourself when you
resist your calling.’ 15 “I asked, ‘Who
are you, Lord?’ “And the Lord replied,
‘I am Jesus, the one you are
persecuting. 16 Get up and stand to your
feet, for I have appeared to you to
reveal your destiny and to commission
you as my assistant. You will be a
witness to what you have seen and to the
things I will reveal whenever I appear
to you. 17 I will rescue you from the
persecution of your own people and from
the hostility of the other nations that
I will send you to. 18 And you will open
their eyes to their true condition, so
that they may turn from darkness to the
Light and from the power of Satan to the
power of God. By placing their faith in
me they will receive the total
forgiveness of sins and be made holy,
taking hold of the inheritance that I
give to my children!’
22 “But in spite of all this, I have
experienced the supernatural help of God
up to this very moment. So I’m standing
here saying the same thing that I’ve
shared with everyone, from the least to
the greatest. For I teach nothing but
what 23 Moses and the prophets have said
was destined to happen: that our Messiah
had to suffer and die and be the first
to rise from the dead, to release the
bright light of truth both to our people
and to the non-Jewish nations.
Exodus 33:8-10
New King James Version
8 So it was, whenever Moses went out to
the tabernacle, that all the people
rose, and each man stood at his tent
door and watched Moses until he had gone
into the tabernacle. 9 And it came to
pass, when Moses entered the tabernacle,
that the pillar of cloud descended and
stood at the door of the tabernacle, and
the Lord talked with Moses. 10 All the
people saw the pillar of cloud standing
at the tabernacle door, and all the
people rose and worshiped, each man in
his tent door.
Jesus tells his disciples to go and wait
for the Holy Spirit to come and that
great power would come on them
Acts 1:4 Jesus instructed them, “Don’t
leave Jerusalem, but wait here until you
receive the gift I told you about, the
gift the Father has promised. 5 For John
baptized you in water, but in a few days
from now you will be baptized in the
Holy Spirit!” 6 Every time they were
gathered together, they asked Jesus,
“Lord, is it now the time for you to
free Israel and restore our kingdom?” 7
He answered, “The Father is the one who
sets the fixed dates and the times of
their fulfillment. You are not permitted
to know the timing of all that he has
prepared by his own authority. 8 But I
promise you this—the Holy Spirit will
come upon you, and you will be seized
with power. You will be my messengers to
Jerusalem, throughout Judea, the distant
provinces even to the remotest places on
earth!”
Acts 2
The Holy Spirit Comes at Pentecost
2 On the day Pentecost was being
fulfilled, all the disciples were
gathered in one place. 2 Suddenly they
heard the sound of a violent blast of
wind rushing into the house from out of
the heavenly realm. The roar of the wind
was so overpowering it was all anyone
could bear! 3 Then all at once a pillar
of fire appeared before their eyes. It
separated into tongues of fire that
engulfed each one of them. 4 They were
all filled and equipped with the Holy
Spirit and were inspired to speak in
tongues—empowered by the Spirit to speak
in languages they had never learned!
The Holy Spirit came with a great wind
and fire! And many saw and came and
believed
Isaiah 40:1-5
“Comfort, yes, comfort My people!” Says
your God. 2 “Speak comfort to Jerusalem,
and cry out to her, That her warfare is
ended, That her iniquity is pardoned;
For she has received from the Lord’s
hand Double for all her sins.” 3 The
voice of one crying in the wilderness:
“Prepare the way of the Lord; Make
straight in the desert A highway for our
God. 4 Every valley shall be exalted And
every mountain and hill brought low; The
crooked places shall be made straight
And the rough places smooth; 5 The glory
of the Lord shall be revealed, And all
flesh shall see it together; For the
mouth of the Lord has spoken.”
11-12“Comfort, yes, comfort My people!”
He will feed His flock like a shepherd;
He will gather the lambs with His arm,
And carry them in His bosom, And gently
lead those who are with young. 12 Who
has measured the waters in the hollow of
His hand, Measured heaven with a span
And calculated the dust of the earth in
a measure? Weighed the mountains in
scales And the hills in a balance?
Mark 16:15
And he said to them, “As you go into all
the world, preach openly the wonderful
news of the gospel to the entire human
race!
Acts 5:41-42
41 The apostles left there rejoicing,
thrilled that God had considered them
worthy to suffer disgrace for the name
of Jesus. 42 And nothing stopped them!
They kept preaching every day in the
temple courts and went from house to
house, preaching the gospel of Jesus,
God’s Anointed One!
Romans 1:16
The Gospel of Power
I refuse to be ashamed of the wonderful
message of God’s liberating power
unleashed in us through Christ! For I am
thrilled to preach that everyone who
believes is saved—the Jew first, and
then people everywhere!
Hebrews 3
Jesus, Greater than Moses
3 And so, dear brothers and sisters, you
are now made holy, and each of you is
invited to the feast of your heavenly
calling. So fasten your thoughts fully
onto Jesus, whom we embrace as our
Apostle and King-Priest. 2 For he was
faithful to the Father who appointed
him, in the same way that Moses was a
model of faithfulness in what was
entrusted to him. 3 But Jesus is worthy
to receive a much greater glory than
Moses, for the one who builds a house
deserves to be honoured more than the
house he builds. 4 Every house is built
by someone, but God is the Designer and
Builder of all things. 5 Indeed, Moses
served God faithfully in all he gave him
to do. His work prophetically
illustrates things that would later be
spoken and fulfilled. 6 But Christ is
more than a Servant, he was faithful as
the Son in charge of God’s house. And
now we are part of his house if we
continue courageously to hold firmly to
our bold confidence and our victorious
hope.
Secrets from Psalm 95
7 This is why the Holy Spirit says, “If
only you would listen to his voice this
day! 8 Don’t make him angry by hardening
your hearts, like your ancestors did
during the days of their rebellion, when
they were tested in the wilderness. 9
There your fathers tested me and tried
my patience even though they saw my
miracles for forty years they still
doubted me! 10 This ignited my anger
with that generation and I said about
them, ‘They wander in their hearts just
like they do with their feet, and they
refuse to learn my ways.’ 11 My heart
grieved over them so I decreed: 'They
will not enter into my rest!’ ” 12 So
search your hearts every day, my
brothers and sisters, and make sure that
none of you has evil or unbelief hiding
within you. For it will lead you astray,
and make you unresponsive to the living
God. 13 This is the time to encourage
each other to never be stubborn or
hardened by sin’s deceitfulness. 14 For
we are mingled with the Messiah, if we
will continue unshaken in this confident
assurance from the beginning until the
end. 15 For again, the Scriptures say,
If only today you would listen to his
voice. Don’t make him angry by hardening
your hearts, as you did in the
wilderness rebellion. 16 The same people
who were delivered from bondage and
brought out of Egypt by Moses, were the
ones who heard and still rebelled. 17
They grieved God for forty years by
sinning in their unbelief, until they
dropped dead in the desert. 18 So God
swore an oath that they would never
enter into his calming place of rest all
because they disobeyed him. 19 It is
clear that they could not enter into
their inheritance because they wrapped
their hearts in unbelief.
Thank God for his precious gift of Jesus
Christ!
2 Corinthians 9:15 Thanks be to God for
His indescribable gift!
2 Corinthians 4:5-7
5 For we do not preach ourselves, but
Christ Jesus the Lord, and ourselves
your bondservants for Jesus’ sake. 6 For
it is the God who commanded light to
shine out of darkness, who has shone in
our hearts to give the light of the
knowledge of the glory of God in the
face of Jesus Christ. 7 But we have this
treasure in earthen vessels, that the
excellence of the power may be of God
and not of us.
