Psalm 91

Psalm 91:7 (NKJV)
7 A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you.

This is one of my favourite verses of this passage. I have used it over and over again in multiple situations. How many times have you heard someone say...well everyone is getting the flu, so I guess I will get it too. Or my mother died when she was 60 and so I guess I will die then too.

There are a lot of other negative confessions I have heard over the years and I refuse to confess any of them. My family is what the doctors consider a "High" risk family. Two of my sisters have had cancer. My mom and dad had cancer. Three of them died from the disease. Am I in fear that I will die of cancer? A resounding No! Because I have claimed this scripture when even the thought would try to enter my mind.

The devil will try to feed you all sorts of lies to see what he can "Sell" you on. But we have to remember what Jesus said.

John 10:10-11 (NKJV)
10 The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly. 11 “I am the good shepherd. The good shepherd gives His life for the sheep.

So when the devil comes to you and tries to sell you some of his lies, don't buy it! Slam him in the face with these two scriptures and he will run

James 4:6-8 (NET)
6 But he gives greater grace. Therefore it says, “God opposes the proud, but he gives grace to the humble.” 7 So submit to God. But resist the devil and he will flee from you. 8 Draw near to God and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and make your hearts pure, you double-minded.

Don't be double minded. Don't think and act contrary to the Word. Speak in unity with the Word and you will see results!

Psalm 91:8 (NKJV)
8 Only with your eyes shall you look, And see the reward of the wicked.

I am sure that we all have had someone that has done something to us that we wanted to retaliate.

Retaliate is defined as to respond to a wrong by returning the wrong with an equally wrong action. To return evil for evil; pay back injury for injury.

God does not want us to do this. He wants us to wait on Him and He will take care of it.

2 Thessalonians 1:6 (NKJV)
6 since it is a righteous thing with God to repay with tribulation those who trouble you,

What we have to remember is that our fight is not with flesh and blood. People are not our problem, the Devil is. He is the influence behind every evil act and everything that would take your focus off of God and how the Word tells us to treat others. We have to get to the root of the problem, not the vessel being used. We all have choices we make. Some choose to do the devil's work. If they do not repent then they will reap the rewards of sin.

Romans 6:23 TPT
23 For sin’s meager wages is death, but God’s lavish gift is life eternal, found in your union with our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One.

We need to stand back and let God handle it, He knows what to do.

Hebrews 10:29-31 (TPT)
29 How much more severely do you suppose a person deserves to be judged who has contempt for God’s Son, and who scorns the blood of the new covenant that made him holy, and has outraged the Spirit of grace?
30 For we know him who said, “I have the right to take revenge and pay them back for their evil!” And also, “The Lord God will judge his own people!” 31 It is the most terrifying thing of all to come under the judgment of the Living God!

But God also wants us to pray for the salvation of the wicked. No one is lost until they have no more breath.

Ezekiel 22:30-31 (NET)
30 “I looked for a man from among them who would repair the wall and stand in the gap before me on behalf of the land, so that I would not destroy it, but I found no one. 31 So I have poured my anger on them, and destroyed them with the fire of my fury. I hereby repay them for what they have done, declares the sovereign Lord.”

Be the person that God is looking for to repair the wall and stand in the gap!

Proverbs 11:30-31 (TPT)
30 But a life lived loving God bears lasting fruit, for the one who is truly wise wins souls. 31 If the righteous are barely saved, what’s in store for all the wicked?
Psalm 91:9-10 (NKJV)
9 Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place, 10 No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling;

Psalm 91:9-10 (TPT)
When we live our lives within the shadow of God Most High,
our secret hiding place, we will always be shielded from harm.
How then could evil prevail against us or disease infect us?

The Word is simple to understand. I remember a teacher once saying this and adding...we need help to misunderstand it. Sometimes we can't wrap our head around how plan and simple the Word is. We get so focused on what is happening in front of us that we get a case of the "What ifs" or the "But I knows". What if I do get sick. But I know of so and so and they got sick.

Are you going to base what God wants to do in your life on what you have heard or seen in other peoples lives? If so, you might as well give up now and just lay down and let the devil ride right over you.

I was so impressed with Tom's Dr. that he had when he had cancer. My friend Christine asked her what were her odds of surviving the cancer were. That she couldn't get anyone to give her a prognosis. She answered, "What does that matter? You are an individual. Make your own decisions and don't look at what has happened to other people. It has a lot to do with attitude. I have seen people beat cancer that should have died. And I have seen people with a cancer they should have beat and they died." This came from a woman, that as far as I know was not a Christian.

We have so much more going for us. We have the word of God! We don't have to be a statistic. We need to take the Word and beat the devil and anything he tries to put on us.

Isaiah 53:4-5 (NET)
4 But he lifted up our illnesses, he carried our pain; even though we thought he was being punished, attacked by God, and afflicted for something he had done. 5 He was wounded because of our rebellious deeds, crushed because of our sins; he endured punishment that made us well; because of his wounds we have been healed

Stop listening to the Devil and listen to God and His Word! Get some attitude! Don't become another one of the Devil's statistics! Make your cry....NO EVIL OR SICKNESS WILL COME ON ME!

Psalm 91:11-12 (NET)
11 For he will order his angels to protect you in all you do.
12 They will lift you up in their hands, so you will not slip and fall on a stone.

Our angels, (yes we have angels assigned to each of us) and they are here to help us. But unless we speak the Word, they cannot do anything for us. They can only obey the spoken word of God out of our mouths.

Psalm 103:20 (NKJV)
20 Bless the Lord, you His angels, Who excel in strength, who do His word, Heeding the voice of His word

When we speak the Word out of our mouths, we give it a voice. Otherwise it is just words on a page. Angels can only do what God says. So in other words, if you are constantly speaking negative words out of your mouth, their hands are tied. It is how it works, it is a law. They cannot act on negative words. Since Jesus only spoke the words of the Father and saw great and mighty things happen, why would it be any different for us? And we must ask in Jesus Name.

John 14:13-14
And whatever you ask in My name, that I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. 14 If you ask anything in My name, I will do it.

God created this world with words. He has not changed anything since then. He said and it was so. (Gen:1) We are to operate the same way.

Ephesians 5:1
Therefore be imitators of God as dear children.

We have to use words to get saved.

Romans 10:9
That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.

We speak the Word to see healing

Matthew 8:8
The centurion answered and said, “Lord, I am not worthy that You should come under my roof. But only speak a word, and my servant will be healed.

For whatever we need we speak what the Word says, nothing contrary to it.

2 Corinthians 4:13
And since we have the same spirit of faith, according to what is written, “I believed and therefore I spoke,” we also believe and therefore speak,

It is amazing that we have Angels to protect us, to lift us up and keep us from harm.

Hebrews 1:14
Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?

But we can only get their protection if we speak God's words, not our own.
