The Fundamentals Of Faith

Lesson 3

Operating The Force Of Faith

Hebrews 11:1

Faith is not a product of reason, it is the product of the recreated spirit.

Whenever the scribes and Pharisees "reasoned" between themselves, they lost out on what God had for them.

Mark 11: 27-33 Verse 31-33 And they reasoned among themselves, saying, If we say "from heaven" he will say "Why then did you not believe him?"

But if we say, "From Men" they feared the people, for all counted John to have been a prophet indeed. So they answered and said to Jesus, "We do not know" and Jesus answered and said to them "Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things."

If they had accepted Jesus for who he was and believed what he said and just accepted that John was from God, they would have received a revelation from God. But they talked themselves out of it.

But when we reason with the Lord that is a different thing.

Isaiah 1:18 Come let us reason together says the Lord.

He will show us the word and explain it to us, and show us in our spirits what he wants us to know.

Proverbs 3:5-6 Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding, in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.

God knows everything. Trusting him with your life should be the easiest thing you could do. But unfortunately, sometimes, we trust our own understanding more than we do his and we mess everything up.

As we read in Mark 11, Faith can move mountains. It is a powerful force and we need to learn how to develop it in our lives. We do this by doing the following.

Put the Word first place in your life. Make it final authority.

Psalm 119:1 Your word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against you.

Psalm 119: I delight myself in your laws and I will not forget your Word.

Isaiah 40:8 The grass withers and the flower fades away, but the word of our God shall stand forever.

Isaiah 55:11 So shall my word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, But it shall accomplish what I please, and shall prosper in the thing for which I sent it.

If we believe that the word of God is final authority in every area of our lives, we will not listen to what the enemy says, because we know what God says. If God said it, that settles it. Whether we believe it or not, His word is always right. We just need to put it into practice in our lives.

Meditate in the Word

Joshua 1:8 This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous and then you will have good success.

Psalms 1:2-3 But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in His law he meditates day and night. He shall be like a tree, planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth itís fruit in itís season. Whose leaf also shall not wither and whatever he does shall prosper.

1 Timothy 4:15 Meditate on these things; give yourself entirely to them, that your profiting may be evident to all.

As we meditate in the Word it will become a reality in our lives. Our faith will be built and we will trust God and what He says.

Act on the Word

James 1:22-25 But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves. For if a man is a hearer of the word and not a doer, he is like a man observing his natural face in a mirror. For he observes himself, goes away and immediately forgets what kind of man he was. But he who looks into the perfect law of liberty and continues in it, and is not a forgetful hearer but a doer of the work, this one will be blessed in what he does.

Galatians 6:9 And let us not be weary while doing good, for in due season we shall reap if we do not lose heart.

There is an expression "Talk is cheap!" Well that is why we need to put actions to our faith. God is looking for people that are "Acting" on His word, not just quoting it. Anyone can quote scriptures, but not everyone believes they are real and alive and for us today. There are many churches that read scriptures and there is no life to it, because, they donít really believe what they are reading. Acting on the Word makes it come alive to you.

Pray in the Spirit

1 Cor. 14:4 He who speaks in tongues edifies himself.

Jude 20 But you beloved, building yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy Spirit.

Our prayer language is perfect prayers unto God. We canít mess it up. It is like a battery charger to our Spirit. We plug into God and he fills us up with a Faith charge.

So we see through all of these scriptures that in order to get the "Force of Faith" to move in our lives, we need Godís word in our Spirit in abundance.

We need to meditate in it day and night. We need to act on it in every area of our lives, and we need to charge up by praying in the Spirit.
