Christ In You The Hope of Glory

Colossians 1:26-27
26 the mystery which has been hidden from ages and from generations, but now has been revealed to His saints. 27 To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

The Passion Translation
26 There is a divine mystery—a secret surprise that has been concealed from the world for generations, but now it’s being revealed, unfolded and manifested for every holy believer to experience. 27 Living within you is the Christ who floods you with the expectation of glory! This mystery of Christ, embedded within us, becomes a heavenly treasure chest of hope filled with the riches of glory for his people, and God wants everyone to know it!

What is the mystery?

1 Corinthians 2:7-8
7 But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, the hidden wisdom which God ordained before the ages for our glory, 8 which none of the rulers of this age knew; for had they known, they would not have crucified the Lord of glory.

TPT
6 However, there is a wisdom that we continually speak of when we are among the spiritually mature. It’s wisdom that didn’t originate in this present age, nor did it come from the rulers of this age who are in the process of being dethroned.7 Instead, we continually speak of this wonderful wisdom that comes from God, hidden before now in a mystery. It is his secret plan, destined before the ages, to bring us into glory. 8 None of the rulers of this present world order understood it, for if they had, they never would have crucified the Lord of shining glory.

The rulers he is referring to are not earthly rulers...but Satan and his angels who are in high places...and they control the rulers here on earth. (the rulers of this age who are in the process of being dethroned)

God hid the mystery from the devil. He did not want him to know his plan. If he had, Satan would never of had Jesus Crucified. The only way that God could fulfill His plan was for Jesus to die for our sins, so that we might receive Him as our saviour and have Him not only dwell with us as in Old Testament times, but that He would DWELL IN US!

10 But God has revealed them to us through His Spirit. For the Spirit searches all things, yes, the deep things of God.
All was hidden to the devil and his angels but it is revealed to us by the Spirit of God in us.

Not only did the devil not know who it was that was going to defeat him, he had no conception of idea, that God could live inside of us. It was so outside of his scope of understanding or conception. It was a brilliant plan devised by the creator of everything! It had to be something that seemed impossible. But as we know, with God, all things are possible. The idea that the God head, Father, Son and Holy Spirit dwells in us is beyond anything that anyone can imagine, and yet it is so! We can't explain it, we just accept it by Faith. It was and still is, the Great Mystery of Salvation!

Purpose of the Mystery

Ephesians 3:8-12

8 To me, who am less than the least of all the saints, this grace was given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, 9 and to make all see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the ages has been hidden in God who created all things through Jesus Christ; 10 to the intent that now the manifold wisdom of God might be made known by the church to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places, 11 according to the eternal purpose which He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord, 12 in whom we have boldness and access with confidence through faith in Him.

Because of the ultimate sacrifice of Jesus, we now have access to heaven. Both on this earth through our prayers and fellowship with God, and when we leave this earth, we will forever live with Him in Heaven! That is our hope of glory!

As God revealed this to me as I was searching the scriptures, tears ran down my face. What a revelation! Yes I have always known that Christ was in me, since I was five. And I guess sometimes we take for granted what He did for us. But to know that God the Father, carefully hid all of this from our mortal enemy all throughout the Bible, just to bring us back to Him. I can't help but cry to know that He loves you and me this much. That He desires to have us with Him this much! To let His son go through all He did, just for us. My heart cannot contain what is welling up in me as I type this. I feel born again....again. Like fresh oil is being poured out on me. I pray that God will reveal this to you as you read this, as He did to me as I wrote it. A true case of revelation knowledge!

"CHRIST IN YOU, YOUR HOPE OF GLORY!"

Paul knew the importance of the mystery and that God wanted it revealed to His believers, His children. So he prayed this prayer for the church.  Not just the church of his time but for all believers that were to come. This is a powerful prayer that you can pray for yourself and for others to receive revelation of the mystery of the Gospel.

Ephesians 1:7-10 (NKJV)

7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace 8 which He made to abound toward us in all wisdom and prudence, 9 having made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His good pleasure which He purposed in Himself, 10 that in the dispensation of the fullness of the times He might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven and which are on earth in Him.

Ephesians 1:15-23

15 Therefore I also, after I heard of your faith in the Lord Jesus and your love for all the saints, 16 do not cease to give thanks for you, making mention of you in my prayers:17 that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, 18 the eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints, 19 and what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power 20 which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, 21 far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come. 22 And He put all things under His feet, and gave Him to be head over all things to the church, 23 which is His body, the fullness of Him who fills all in all.

Ephesians 1 TPT
7 Since we are now joined to Christ, we have been given the treasures of redemption by his blood—the total cancellation of our sins—all because of the cascading riches of his grace.
8 This superabundant grace is already powerfully working in us, releasing all forms of wisdom and practical understanding.
9 And through the revelation of the Anointed One, he unveiled his secret desires to us—the hidden mystery of his long-range plan, which he was delighted to implement from the very beginning of time.
10 And because of God’s unfailing purpose, this detailed plan will reign supreme through every period of time until the fulfillment of all the ages finally reaches its climax—when God makes all things new in all of heaven and earth through Jesus Christ.

15-23 If the dead aren’t raised up, that would mean that Christ has not been raised up either. And if Christ is not alive, you are still lost in your sins and your faith is a fantasy. It would also mean that those believers in Christ who have passed away have simply perished. If the only benefit of our hope in Christ is limited to this life on earth, we deserve to be pitied more than all others! But the truth is, Christ is risen from the dead, as the firstfruit of a great resurrection harvest of those who have died. For since death came through a man, Adam, it is fitting that the resurrection of the dead has also come through a man, Christ. Even as all who are in Adam die, so also all who are in Christ will be made alive. But each one in his proper order: Christ, the firstfruits, then those who belong to Christ in his presence.

God wants His people to know the mystery of Christ. Why He came, why He died and why He rose again. The Old Testament saints and prophets knew He was coming, but had no specifics of who He was. It was all part of hiding the identity of Christ and what his mission was. There were prophesies of where he would be born and so on but nothing to reveal who he would be. That's why he came as a baby. Who would ever think that God would be born as a human on this earth?

Romans 5:1-3 TPT
Our New Life
1 Our faith in Jesus transfers God’s righteousness to us and he now declares us flawless in his eyes. This means we can now enjoy true and lasting peace with God, all because of what our Lord Jesus, the Anointed One, has done for us. 2 Our faith guarantees us permanent access into this marvelous kindness that has given us a perfect relationship with God. What incredible joy bursts forth within us as we keep on celebrating our hope of experiencing God’s glory!

Mark 4:10-12

10 But when He was alone, those around Him with the twelve asked Him about the parable. 11 And He said to them, “To you it has been given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God; but to those who are outside, all things come in parables, 12 so that ‘Seeing they may see and not perceive, And hearing they may hear and not understand; Lest they should turn, And their sins be forgiven them."

But as children of God, we need understand the fullness of what his redemption plan means

Romans 16:25-27

25 Now to Him who is able to establish you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery kept secret since the world began 26 but now made manifest, and by the prophetic Scriptures made known to all nations, according to the commandment of the everlasting God, for obedience to the faith 27 to God, alone wise, be glory through Jesus Christ forever. Amen.

The Mystery Revealed

Ephesians 3:1-7

The Divine Mystery

1 Beloved friends, because of my love for Jesus Christ, I am now his prisoner for the sake of all of you who are not Jews, 2 so that you will hear the gospel that God has entrusted to me to share with you. 3 For this wonderful mystery, which I briefly described, was given to me by divine revelation, 4 so that whenever you read it you will be able to understand my revelation and insight into the secret mystery of the Messiah. 5 There has never been a generation that has been given the detailed understanding of this glorious and divine mystery until now. He kept it a secret until this generation. God is revealing it only now to his sacred apostles and prophets by the Holy Spirit. 6 Here’s the secret: The gospel of grace has made you, non-Jewish believers, into coheirs of his promise through your union with him. And you have now become members of his body—one with the Anointed One! 7-8 I have been made a messenger of this wonderful news by the gift of grace that works through me. Even though I am the least significant of all his holy believers, this grace-gift was imparted when the manifestation of his power came upon me. Grace alone empowers me so that I can boldly preach this wonderful message to non-Jewish people, sharing with them the unfading, inexhaustible riches of Christ, which are beyond comprehension. 9 My passion is to enlighten every person to this divine mystery. Paul was so committed to have believers understand the full and true meaning of Christ's sacrifice that he prayed the following prayer as well. You can pray it for yourself and others.

Appreciation of the Mystery

Ephesians 3:14-20

Paul Prays for Love to Overflow
14 So I kneel humbly in awe before the Father of our Lord Jesus, the Messiah, 15 the perfect Father of every father and child in heaven and on the earth. 16 And I pray that he would unveil within you the unlimited riches of his glory and favor until supernatural strength floods your innermost being with his divine might and explosive power. 17 Then, by constantly using your faith, the life of Christ will be released deep inside you, and the resting place of his love will become the very source and root of your life.
18-19 Then you will be empowered to discover what every holy one experiences—the great magnitude of the astonishing love of Christ in all its dimensions. How deeply intimate and far-reaching is his love! How enduring and inclusive it is! Endless love beyond measurement that transcends our understanding—this extravagant love pours into you until you are filled to overflowing with the fullness of God! 20 Never doubt God’s mighty power to work in you and accomplish all this. He will achieve infinitely more than your greatest request, your most unbelievable dream, and exceed your wildest imagination! He will outdo them all, for his miraculous power constantly energizes you

In Conclusion

1 Timothy 3:16

The Mystery of Righteousness
16 For the mystery of righteousness is beyond all question!
He was revealed as a human being, and as our great High Priest in the Spirit!
Angels gazed upon him as a man
and the glorious message of his kingly rulership
is being preached to the nations!
Many have believed in him
and he has been taken back to heaven,
and has ascended into the place of exalted glory
in the heavenly realm.
Yes, great is this mystery of righteousness!

Philippians 1

3 I thank my God upon every remembrance of you, 4 always in every prayer of mine making request for you all with joy, 5 for your fellowship in the gospel from the first day until now, 6 being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ; 7 just as it is right for me to think this of you all, because I have you in my heart, inasmuch as both in my chains and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel, you all are partakers with me of grace. 8 For God is my witness, how greatly I long for you all with the affection of Jesus Christ. 9 And this I pray, that your love may abound still more and more in knowledge and all discernment, 10 that you may approve the things that are excellent, that you may be sincere and without offense till the day of Christ, 11 being filled with the fruits of righteousness which are by Jesus Christ, to the glory and praise of God.

Philippians 3:9-1

7 But what things were gain to me, these I have counted loss for Christ. 8 Yet indeed I also count all things loss for the excellence of the knowledge of Christ Jesus my Lord, for whom I have suffered the loss of all things, and count them as rubbish, that I may gain Christ 9 and be found in Him, not having my own righteousness, which is from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ, the righteousness which is from God by faith; 10 that I may know Him and the power of His resurrection, and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, 11 if, by any means, I may attain to the resurrection from the dead.

To know Him, and the power of His resurrection. The great mystery of the Gospel!
Because he defeated death, so can we.

1 Corinthians 15:55 “O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?”

This is not talking about the actual "Grave" but Hell. We can escape hell because He went there in our place. That's the power of His resurrection! That is how he defeated the devil but saving all that would believe in him and what He did for us.

His present day mission

Hebrews 7:24-27

24 But Jesus permanently holds his priestly office, since he lives forever and will never have a successor!
25 So he is able to save fully from now throughout eternity, everyone who comes to God through him, because he lives to pray continually for them. 26 He is the High Priest who perfectly fits our need—holy, without a trace of evil, without the ability to deceive, incapable of sin, and exalted beyond the heavens!
27 Unlike the former high priests, he is not compelled to offer daily sacrifices. They had to bring a sacrifice first for their own sins, then for the sins of the people, but he finished the sacrificial system, once and for all, when he offered himself.

He never ceases to pray for us. To go before the Father on our behalf! What a great salvation we have! Thank you Father for your marvellous gift to us all!
