Blood Covenant

Lesson 3

Redeemed From The Curse

Galatians 3:13,14, 29 Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law. Being made a curse for us. For it is written, cursed is everyone that hangs on a tree. That the Blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ. That we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. And if you be Christ’s then are you Abraham’s seed and heirs according to the promise.

If you read Deuteronomy 28 you will see the Blessings and the curses that came upon the children of Israel, Abraham’s seed.

The Blessings: Prosper in Spirit, Soul, Body and Financially.

The Curses: Poverty, sickness and spiritual death.

Abraham lived by faith to receive the promises. The Bible says he pleased God. Just think how much more power we have to live by faith with Christ living in us. But the blessings of God will not just fall on you, you must believe for them and accept them by Faith.

Hebrews 11:6  But without faith it is impossible to please Him. For he that comes to God, must believe that He is and that He is the rewarder of those that diligently seek Him.

When the Old Covenant was in effect, the power of sin was in force. Satan had perverted Adams authority, using fear and death on men. Sin plagued man day and night because he was not a re-created spirit.

In the New Covenant, God rules by life and faith. We have Jesus in us and the power of the spirit to stand on the word. We are one with Christ. Be strong in the Lord and the power of his might. Walk by faith not by sight. (II Cor. 5:7)

Certain elements of the Old Covenant are still in effect. We still have to walk right before God. We still have to obey his commandments and conditions laid down in His word. For every promise there is a condition. If we are not receiving the blessings, maybe we are not fulfilling the conditions. We cannot have hatred, bitterness, un-forgiveness, doubt & unbelief in our lives and expect to receive from God. James says we cannot be double-minded or we will not receive anything from God.

James 1:5-8  If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that gives to all men liberally, and withholds not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavers is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in all his ways

Do you need something from God? Find the scripture that says it is yours, and claim it.

To not receive all that God has for us, is to say that Jesus died in vain. To say “I can’t” when God says Phil. 4:13 “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me” is going against the word.

Speak the Word! Live the Word!

Proverbs 4:20-23  My son, attend unto my words, incline your ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from your eyes. Keep them in your heart. For they are life to those that find them, and health to all their flesh. Keep your heart with all diligence, for out of it are the issues of life.

Walk in obedience to God and His Word, and He will bless you for it.

Jesus was the fulfillment of the Abrahamic Covenant.

1) He walked perfect before God

2) He gave himself as the cutting of the covenant as the Lamb of God

3) He was the Sacrifice for a better covenant by giving, Eternal Life & A New Nature

Jesus’ ministry did not stop at the resurrection. He still continues in our behalf before the Father. He has a never failing, never ending priesthood over us in Heaven. He is always before the Father in our behalf.

Romans 8:27
27 Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.

Romans 8:34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.

Hebrews 7:25
25 Therefore He is also able to save to the uttermost those who come to God through Him, since He always lives to make intercession for them.
With God and Jesus we cannot fail. We are no longer subject to the curse.

Christ has set us free! Yes the curse still exists, but it no longer has dominion over us! We can overcome by the Blood of the Lamb!

Romans 6:14  For sin shall not have dominion over you: for ye are not under the law, but under grace

Romans 8:37-39  No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord

Jesus is the final sacrifice. There is no more need for shedding of blood! He did it all and has passed the authority back to us to live a triumphant life!

Hebrews 8:16, 17  But now hath he obtained a more excellent ministry, by how much also he is the mediator of a better covenant, which was established upon better promises. For if that first covenant had been faultless, then should no place have been sought for the second

Hebrews 9:14  How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? And for this cause he is the mediator of the new testament, that by means of death, for the redemption of the transgressions that were under the first testament, they which are called might receive the promise of eternal inheritance.

Hebrews 9:28  So Christ was once offered to bear the sins of many; and unto them that look for him shall he appear the second time without sin unto salvation.
