This lesson has some deep teaching in it and is not to be
read lightly, but with an open mind. It is a subject that needs to be studied
and meditated on to understand and accept what I am saying. I don’t want to
lose you on this subject. Please read all the scriptures carefully and spend
time in prayer and ask God for revelation knowledge on what you read here
today.
II Corinthians 5:17-21 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old
things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. And all things are
of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us
the ministry of reconciliation; To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the
world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed
unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as
though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye
reconciled to God. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that
we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
Jesus took our penalty. He went to hell in our place, so that
we would not have to. If we have accepted him, we will never taste spiritual
death, but life everlasting. Sometimes we emphasize the cross so much that we
don’t realize the full extent of what Jesus went through for us, and most
important, the power of His Resurrection.
Philippians 3:10-11 That I may know him, and the power of his resurrection, and
the fellowship of his sufferings, being made conformable unto his death; If by
any means I might attain unto the resurrection of the dead.
The power of His resurrection is the key to our salvation. To
understand what that means should be every Christians goal.
The book of Hebrews is a powerful book to read. It explains
so much of the Old Covenant and the New. Take time to read it and meditate on
what redemption is really all about.
When Christ died, he went and preach to those who had died
and showed Himself as the fulfillment of the promise made to Abraham.
I Peter 3:19-20 For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the
unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but
quickened by the Spirit: By which also he went and preached unto the spirits in
prison;
Can you imagine the excitement of those Old Testament saints?
Seeing the fulfillment finally of what they had died believing!
Read Hebrews 11:4-40
here
Acts 2:24, 31, 32 Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death:
because it was not possible that he should be held of it. He seeing this before
spoke of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell,
neither his flesh did see corruption. This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we
all are witnesses.
He took the keys of Death, Hell and the Grave.
Revelations 1:18 I am he that lives, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for
evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.
I Corinthians 15:15 O death, where is thy sting? O grave, where is thy victory?
Matthew 28:18 All power has been given unto me in Heaven and in earth.
Then after this, he turned it over to us and said,
Mark 16:15-18 Go you therefore and teach all nations. And these signs will
follow them that believed. In my name shall they cast out devils, they shall
speak with new tongues. They shall take up serpents, and if they drink any
deadly thing, it shall not hurt them. They shall lay hands on the sick, and
they shall recover.
To complete the covenant, Christ took his blood before the
Father, as the High Priest and cleansed the heavenly utensils of worship.
Hebrews 9: 11 & 12, 21 But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come,
by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say,
not of this building; Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own
blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal
redemption for us.
Moreover he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle, and all
the vessels of the ministry.
This is why he said to Mary “Touch me not, I have not yet
ascended to the Father” He had to fulfill the last step of the covenant,
before returning to earth. Without the shedding of blood, there is no remission
of sin. Jesus’ blood is a constant reminder to God that our salvation is paid
for.
Hebrews 9:22 And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and
without shedding of blood is no remission. It was therefore necessary that the
patterns of things in the heavens should be purified with these; but the
heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these.
Everything on earth is a type and symbol of Heaven. God made
it in Heaven’s image. We see in Job that Satan had the freedom to come before
God. How could that be as he had been cast down out of heaven? Adam’s sin
reached that far. When he gave dominion to Satan, he also gave him the freedom
to come before God. That is why Jesus had to purify the holy place in Heaven.
Now Satan is no longer allowed to be there. Jesus paid for man’s sin and shut
the door on him.
It is important to understand that our redemption was more
then just the cross. As horrible a sacrifice it was, that he hung there for us,
it was much deeper then that. Without what followed in the three days from that
event, our redemption would not have been complete. As we continue this study
on Blood covenant I hope that you will see clearly just what Jesus did for us.
Matthew 12:40 For as Jonas was three days and three nights in the whale's
belly; so shall the Son of man be three days and three nights in the heart of
the earth.
